Learn About "Strollers"

 

Your stroller is the most important piece of equipment that you are going to invest in. You are going to use this item for a minimum of 3 years per child, so you’ll want to get it right. It is a lifestyle choice that you will truly enjoy on a daily basis if you choose the correct one. As you shop, keep in mind the following points: 

  

1) Are you going to walk a lot? (i.e. do you have a dog in the family? Do you love to exercise? Do you live in a neighbourhood that you do most of your errands in?)

2) Will you be folding it into the car often (Therefore will you want to put your car seat onto the stroller)?

3) Do you only take public transit? (Therefore you may need a lighter stroller)

4) Where are you going to store your stroller? (it’s not recommended outside, or left in the trunk of your car)

5) How many stairs (if any) are there to climb to your front door - if so, then a heavy stroller is no good, unless you can store it in a hallway.

6) Will you want to travel with this product?

7) Do you plan on having several children, or are you expecting twins? Ask if your stroller will "grow" with you.

8) Remember you are dealing with Canadian weather, terrains and needs as your parenting demands change.

Safety Recall: Britax Convertible Car Seats

Attention Moms to be ... and More customers,

Please note due to the current recall issued by Transport Canada the following action MUST be taken. Please contact Britax Child Safety at 1-888-427-4829 and they will be more than happy to assist you in replacing the Hugs System for your car seat. Please check that your car seat was manufactured between June 1st and August 31st 2012 before contacting Britax. Car seats manufactured on September 1st 2012 are NOT affected by the recall.

Please note that no injuries or incidents were reported in Canada. As well, Britax car seats are tested without the hugs technology so your child remains safe in their car seat.

Retail stores are under instruction to not accept any recalled car seat back from a consumer for return or exchange.

We will not be issuing any free Canadian Car seat Installation gift certificates for any car seats removed due to this recall.

HUGS ( Harness Ultra Guard System) Chest pads are affixed to the seat shell to ensure proper positioning and provide resistance to the forward movement of your child in a crash, reducing the risk of head injury.

The affected Boulevard 65 -G3, Pavillion 65 - G3, and Advocate 65 - G3 Convertible car seats were manufactured with this enhanced harness system that incorporated a softer more pliable, non-toxic HUGS pad intended to provide increased performance and comfort. Britax has receieved reports that some children bite or chew on the pads and have bitten off small pieces of the pads which could present a choking hazard, especially in infants. 

Look for the white label on the child's left-hand side of the seat near the head/ear area. 

This label displays the seat's serial number, manufacture date, and batch number.

If you have not yet received your remedy kit and have concerns that your child may bite the HUGS pads, they can be removed and the car seat can be safely used until replacement pads are received. As always please ensure that proper harness tensioning is achieved.
