Re: Recall of Stroller Snack and Activity Trays With Connectors Due to Possible Head Entrapment Hazard

Dear Tray Vous Customer:

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Tray Vous of San Diego,CA is voluntarily recalling approximately 770 snack and activity trays with connectors. Our records indicate that you may have purchased one of these products sometime between May 2011 and June 2012.

This recall involves Tray Vous branded snack and activity trays, which have connectors that fit into two models of a specific brand of strollers. The three-piece unit includes a black plastic tray with a cup holder, a left connector and a right connector. The tray measures 15 inches wide by 6 inches deep by .75 inches thick. The recalled left and right plastic connectors are approximately 4 inches long and are used to connect the tray to the stroller’s base. “Patent Approved US7942437B2” is printed on the sticker underneath the tray.

Hazard: The opening between the recalled tray and stroller seat bottom could allow an unharnessed child’s body to pass through, which could traps a child’s head, posing a head entrapment hazard.

NO INJURIES OR INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED.

Please check to see if you have the tray and connectors in your possession, either installed into your stroller(s) or uninstalled. Please stop using the tray and connectors immediately and follow the instructions below. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Remedy: Immediately remove the old tray and its connectors from the strollers and contact Tray Vous to receive a free replacement set consisting of a new tray with new sewn in Velcro straps (for added safety, convenience and a more secure fit) and newly designed left and right connectors. Do NOT return the old tray or connectors to the store of purchase or to Tray Vous.

Disposal of old Connectors and Tray: As long as the tray, the recalled connectors and the stroller are not used together, there is no head entrapment hazard. Upon ordering the new connectors and new tray, you will need to check a box on our website agreeing to dispose of the old connectors and tray before new ones will shipped out.

Other items to note: If you bought the recalled Tray Vous product for a friend or family member who does not live with you, or if you have sold the product to someone, please advise us of their name and address immediately so that we can send them this letter. If you have disposed of either product (thrown it out) please advise us of this information as soon as possible so that we may correct our records. If you know of anyone who bought the recalled Tray Vous product, or may be using it, please let us know their name and address as well so that we can send the enclosed notice to them. Please feel free to share this notice with all your friends that have stroller age children.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, however we are concerned for your safety. It is therefore very important that you act upon this information immediately, as others who do not receive this notice may be relying upon you.

In cribs manufactured from January through August 2012, separation of the front panel from the side panels could occur if crib was not properly glued. The date of manufacture can be found on the label on the lower inside right panel of the crib. Purchase order (PO) number listed under "serial number" on same label. PO numbers affected are H004522, H004546, H004548, or H004777.
