Donate to our Haiti Shoe Drive!

Each year the staff at Moms to be ...and More chooses
a worthy cause which we feel we can make a difference
in the lives of those less fortunate. Each year, the owner donates
time to go on a mission to Haiti, and in support of that, we will
continue to collect donations for Haiti. In 2011, we collected
shoes, in 2012 toiletries, and once again we have chosen
to collect shoes for the Haitian people.

We will entrust the collected shoes to
an outstanding organization called
The Mission to Haiti Canada
( http://www.mthcanada.org/)

The Mission to Haiti Canada was formed in 1997 and is administered by a board of directors. Mission teams are an important avenue for people to share their gifts and talents. They are presently working with teams who are servicing in medical/dental care and construction projects. When volunteers travel to Haiti, they are always bringing extra bags with them, and in the months to come the shoes collected will make their way to Haiti.

Create Cord Blood Bank

 family's health investment
The birth of your baby grants your family a unique opportunity to collect and store Umbilical Cord Blood & Peristem™ Tissue Stem cells. These precious stem cells are the fundamental building blocks of the organs and tissue of the body and have great therapeutic potential. CReATe is dedicated to helping you protect your family's lifelong health by offering you the exclusive option of storing both types of stem cells.

What is Cord Blood?
Cord blood is the blood remaining in the placenta and umbilical cord, typically discarded after a baby is delivered. This blood is an extremely rich source of the body’s master cells - the building blocks of our blood and immune system, the “stem cells”. In addition, recent evidence has shown that these cord blood stem cells have the potential to develop into all of the body's various cell types, such a those in the brain, spinal cord, heart, kidney and liver. Therefore, they could potentially replace critical cells in tissues all over the body that have been destroyed or damaged by disease.
If your child, or possibly someone in your family develops a life-threatening illness or debilitating disease, a transplant from cord-blood-derived cells could save their life or greatly reduce the symptoms and effects of their illness.

Unlike the use of embryo-derived cells, cord blood collection and storage is not controversial or ethically charged in any way, because these cells are generally discarded, and do not compromise potential human life.

Cord blood-derived stem cells have been successfully used on thousands of patients to treat numerous conditions and diseases and there is exciting new research on many additional conditions that it could be used for in the near future.

What is Peristem?
Peristem™ program offers parents the option to bank a new type of stem cell that is found in the tissues surrounding the blood vessels of the baby’s umbilical cord. These cells are called mesenchymal stem cells and are the building blocks of the structural tissues (bone, cartilage, muscle, and fibrous tissues) of our body.

Peristem™ stem cells could be used in the treatment of conditions such as degenerative arthritis, heart disease, traumatic injuries, birth defects, burns, liver disease, MS, autoimmune diseases (such as Crohn’s disease or rheumatoid arthritis) and some cancers. Together with cord blood stem cells, they could enhance the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma and other diseases.

If you and your family are interested in the opportunity to collect and store Umbilical Cord Blood & Peristem™ Tissue Stem cells, please feel free to contact CReATe for additional information. You may register at any time during your pregnancy although it is advised to register early to receive your collection kit at least one month before your due date.

Give Soap for Hope!

Soap for Hope! Donate and give the Haitians a clean start!

Each year the staff at Moms to be ...and More chooses a worthy cause which we feel we can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. In 2010 we supported homeless in Toronto with winter coats and in 2011 we collected shoes for the Haitian people.

We have learned that bar soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are desperately needed necessities for the Haitians.

The Mission to Haiti Canada was formed in 1997 and is administered by a board of directors. Mission teams are an important avenue for people to share their gifts and talents. They are presently working with teams who are servicing in medical/dental care and construction projects. When volunteers travel to Haiti, they are always bringing extra bags with them, and in the months to come the supplies collected will make their way to Haiti.
The Mission to Haiti Canada ( http://www.mthcanada.org/)
We are collecting:

  • Bars of soap (no liquid soap)
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
Please deliver all donations to the customer service desk at the back of the toys department.

We here at Moms to be ...and More want to thank you for your help and support.
